We are a business that was inspired by the births of some very special children and the dedication of four mothers, Patricia, Julia and Laura and Jodie, who wanted to create rainbows for Premature Babies,Children,Teens and Young Adults with Special Needs.

Twenty eight years ago, one of “Togs” founders, Julia became the mother of a son. He was born with chronic lung disease. With a family history of Brittle Asthma stemming from twisted bronchial tubes, it was something that luckily Julia could cope with. The difficulty for her was finding suitable clothing and accessories for her child. As an experienced seamstress and with the help of her mother, Patricia, Julia began to make the things her son needed. Patterned covers for his portable nebuliser, funky clothes to fit his constantly changing body due to the steroids and other drugs he had to take, collars for reflux, excess saliva and dribbles, positioning pillows to help him sleep upright or for his physio…… the list was endless! And that was the start of Togs4specialsprogs! Though we didn’t know it then!
Thirteen years ago, Laura, Julia’s daughter, became the mother of a premature baby girl, born with the same genetic condition and Julia once again made everything she needed, also making clothes and bedding for a premature baby. Laura went on to have four more children, all born prematurely! Her second child has Epilepsy and a platelet defect and spent the first 2yrs of her life in and out of hospital! I.V. prem baby gowns were added to the “Julia’s List of Designs”! When Laura’s fourth child was born with Hydrocephelus, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, a skull defect, VSD, T.O.F and visual impairment, Julia designed a complete range for her, which totally improved her quality of life! It was at this time that Julia began to teach Laura to sew as well, as her mum had taught her! By this time Julia’s son had met his partner, Jodie, and shortly after became a father himself!
So with Laura’s designs, Patricia and Julia's sewing and Jodie’s business skills “Togs4specialsprogs” was born!
